Can I buy a full-resolution download?

Yes. Every Fine Art Display Pic can be bought as a full-resolution download instead of, or alongside, a printed version.

What resolution means

Resolution is how much detail a picture holds, measured in pixels, the tiny dots that make up a digital picture. The bigger a print, the more pixels it needs to look sharp up close. We count about 250 pixels for every inch of print.

The resolution choices

• 2K (standard): about 2,000 to 2,500 pixels on the long side, included with every picture. Good for phones, websites, social media and prints up to about 8 x 10 inches.
• 4K: about 4,000 pixels, made by our AI at full 4K. Good for prints up to about 11 x 14 inches. Costs 12 credits extra.
• 8K: about 8,000 pixels, made by enlarging the 4K file with Topaz, a professional enlarging tool that adds fine detail rather than just stretching pixels. Always a JPEG file. Good for prints up to about 20 x 30 inches. Costs 20 credits extra.
• 16K: about 16,000 pixels, enlarged the same way, for the largest prints up to 40 x 60 inches. Always a JPEG file, so the download stays a manageable size.

The extra credits for 4K, 8K or 16K are shown beside each choice when you make a picture. If you order a print later from your Gallery and the size you want needs more detail than your picture has, the print options will offer to increase it.
